Is it a classical ruin from the last days of Pompeii? Or is it just a Forgotten New York Street Scene?

Step right in, folks...

The maitre d' will be with you in just a minute!

The winter-dormant Boat Basin Cafe is at West 79th Street and the Henry Hudson Parkway. It's built in the middle of a traffic 'roundabout' as the British put it.
As you would expect, the cafe looks out on the Hudson River Boat Basin on the Upper West Side with its collection of ketches and yachts.
You cannot 'ketch' any dinner here until the balmy breezes come back, but pigeons and an occasional mammalian vermin can now be caught here.

NOTE TO FORGOTTEN FANS:

This isn't the first time I've been wrong, nor will it be the last. The original draft of this page named the Boast Basin Café among the deceased.

Rich Hamel writes:

The Boat Basin Café is still going strong. It is just closed for the season. It is five blocks from my apartment. Their burgers are outstanding. It is a great place to go on a hot summer night.

As Emily Littella would say...

"Never mind!"

I heard from Boat Basin Café owner Mike O'Neil who encourages Forgotten Fans far and wide to come in for a beer and burger.

Now to find something that actually IS in ruins.
