WHERE: Meet outside token booth area, 12 NOON, Sun. Feb. 27, Willets Point stop, #7 train, on pedestrian ramp heading into Flushing Meadows Park
TIME: Approximately 3 hours. Blizzard or monsoon cancels; otherwise we're on. We'll see every remnant remaining from the 1964-1965 World's Fair, and some from the 1939-40 Fair, including futuristic architecture and some from the first century A.D; and a look at the NYC Panorama, a scale model of NYC including every building in the Five Boroughs. I'll try to have as many pictures from the vintage Fair as I can find to pass around. ADMISSION: $5. For the first time, after 18 Tours, I'm going to start charging admission. Why? Well, first of all, I was laid off this past November, and need the money. If this is successful, I'll start doing more tours, which could make us all happier. Compared with what other NYC tourmasters charge, this is still a bargain. If you want to discuss or complain about the new policy, let me know at erpietri@earthlink.net If you're coming please let me know at the above email address, with your full name for my list, by Thursday, February 24. |
